Focus Week: Third-Party Triumph: Reliable and Effective Third-Party Reports

26 July 2023
Recording of Zoom Webinar

Please note: This live event has now occurred. However, you can still purchase the recording of this webinar individually OR as part of the Student Support Bundle.

This webinar is one of five available during Velg Training's dedicated Focus Week: Assessment Tools & Practices

About this webinar

Using third parties to help gather assessment evidence is often used in circumstances where it is not possible for the assessor to directly observe the learner in the workplace. They also provide an opportunity to gather evidence about the ‘everyday performance’ of the learner in the workplace and can assist in confirming indirect evidence is authentic.

As useful as third-party evidence collection is, poorly designed and implemented third-party reports can result in insufficient and inauthentic evidence. They can also end up being a ‘tick and flick’ job that busy employers don’t pay too much attention to.This webinar will explore ways to develop third party evidence gathering assessment instruments that provide assessors with evidence that they can rely upon to make valid assessment decisions.

Our 90-minute Focus Week webinar has been designed to help you maximize the potential of third-party evidence collection in your VET assessments! Dive in to discover the secrets of developing third-party reports that provide reliable and authentic evidence to support valid assessment decisions. Learn how to select appropriate third-party contributors, create easily understood criteria, and offer clear instructions for learners, third-parties, and assessors. With real-life examples and instruments being reviewed and expert insights, this session is sure to elevate your assessment approach and enhance the credibility of your VET program.

Throughout this webinar examples of third-party evidence gathering instruments will be reviewed to help participants visualise the concepts discussed.
