TAE PD Week: Planning Effective Vocational Training Using Units of Competency

3 December 2024 10:00am (AEST: QLD)
Online via Zoom Webinar

This webinar forms part of our TAE PD Week hosted by Velg Training and MRWED.  It aligns with the unit of competency TAEDES412 - Design and develop plans for vocational training.

About this webinar

Units of competency are the building blocks of the accredited VET system.

They describe the specific skills and knowledge required by students to be deemed competent in a particular industry and are connected to standards of performance relevant in the workplace.

Trainers delivering vocational training must therefore access and use these units to underpin their facilitation.

This webinar provides a step-by-step guide for how to interpret units of competency to enable to development of session plans that can be used to support vocational training and create effective learning experiences for students.

Key topics covered within webinar

  • Identify the areas of a unit of competency that can be used as the basis for session planning
  • Outline an ideal structure to create effective session plans for vocational training
  • Discuss key techniques that could be employed to enhance learner engagement of the content.
  • Examine templates designed to show the relationship between the unit and the planned facilitation, to support compliance functions.

We send out all electronic resources to registrants within 48 hours of the session closure. All Velg Training Webinars are scheduled in AEST (QLD time) - please check your timezone before logging onto the online training session.
