TAE PD Week: Practical Strategies to Improve Online Assessment Engagement and Completions

5 December 2024 1:00pm (AEST: QLD)
Online via Zoom Webinar

This webinar forms part of our TAE PD Week hosted by Velg Training and MRWED.  It aligns with the unit of competency TAEASS404 - Assess competence in an online environment.

About this webinar

With the continued shift to online or blended teaching and learning, online assessment is a natural progression of this trend.

Some challenges being reported by educators is learners only completing half the question on written assessments, or completely shutting down when it comes to a role play.

Don’t worry! You’re not alone and there are solutions.

Based on a research project which included a year working with learners to investigate their online assessment perceptions and behaviours, during this interactive webinar you’ll learn practical evidence-backed strategies to strengthen your online assessment practice, improve completion rates, and enhance how learners receive your assessment feedback.

Key topics covered within webinar

  • Identify learner barriers to online assessment engagement
  • Describe strategies for strengthening short-answer and written assessment practices
  • Explain the scaffolding technique for successful role play assessments.
  • Outline ways of enhancing online feedback
