Webinar overview

The VET and education sectors are grappling with the rise of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) as tools like ChatGPT can easily spit out plausible sounding responses to assessment tasks.

The implications of this reach right to the heart of what we aim to achieve with assessment.

In VET, when we look to confirm competency, this includes the underpinning knowledge necessary for safe, effective performance. Traditional ways of testing knowledge are under fire from GenAI and with that comes risk to assessment authenticity.

And yet, knowledge evidence remains a fundamental component of competency. Therefore, we must remain smart about incorporating assessment design that upholds the integrity of unit knowledge evidence requirements.

The intent of these sessions is to give tips and pointers about the things that add value to the quality of your assessment tools, and what to avoid because it undermines quality and compliance.

Key topics covered

  • Principles of robust, reliable knowledge instruments in VET assessment tools
  • Factors that undermine tool quality and compliance
  • Ways to ensure evidence collected is valid
  • Impacts of generative AI in knowledge assessment design - and how to mitigate
  • Common errors in KE assessment design - and how to avoid them
