The Four Roles of Online Educators

14 September 2022
ONLINE via Zoom Webinar

Join Dr Deniese Cox for this 90 minute session as she shares user-friendly framework for understanding what today’s learners need and want from their online educator.

Teaching online makes for a busy role, and you’re probably feeling pulled in different directions!

We all know how important reflecting on practice is to make sure you’re meeting the needs and expectations of learners, but who’s got the time?

What you need is a reliable, efficient framework to plan and review your online practice.

Overview

Dr Deniese Cox knows her stuff!  Here's what attendees of her sessions had to say:

  • "Deniese demonstrated the aspects that she was talking about, kept the info clear and simple, and inspired me to use the skills she showed."
  • "Excellent, knowledgeable speaker with suggestions that can be readily implemented."
  • "The presenter made the information relevant and interactive, and the training was supported by further resources we can access."
  • "Very focused, practical advice backed up by research."
  • "Deniese Cox presents really well, was clear and engaging, looking forward to her next webinar."

She joins us again this September to offer her insights gleaned from real research of online students.

This 90-minute webinar introduces you to a user-friendly framework for understanding what today’s learners need and want from their online educator. This framework has been updated, especially for online VET, from established models of online teaching.

Breaking the online educator role down into four memorable components (C.O.T.E.) is an effective way of understanding what adult online learners need and want from their educator.

During this session, you’ll not only learn the framework but also consider your ideal priorities against your current practice.

Then, a highly practical reflection tool will be introduced. You’ll learn how to draw on both the C.O.T.E. framework and its accompanying reflection tool to better understand your day-to-day teaching practice and team values, as well as the overall balance of your learning content and teaching interventions.

Participants will walk away with a detailed workbook.

Key topics covered in this webinar

  • Understand all four parts of the C.O.T.E. framework.
  • Learn about known gaps between ideal and enacted practice.
  • Learn how to use the flexible reflection tool.
  • Interactive Q&A throughout.
