Overview

The National Skills Commission (NSC) has identified that across 12 generic skill categories, technology use and application ranked fourth across all skill forecasts, with almost all jobs requiring the use of at least one technology tool. This impacts the way Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) deliver training in preparing learners for participation in future workforces with a need to address baseline digital skills in all industry areas.

In preparing for the delivery of training to further enhance the focus on digital literacy, our trainers and assessors also need to be upskilled in their own digital literacy and capability, not only as individuals but also as educators, which requires a very specific and separate skill set.
