Focus Week: Simulate to Innovate: Crafting Effective Simulated Assessments

25 July 2023
Recording of Zoom Webinar

Please note: This live event has now occurred. However, you can still purchase the recording of this webinar individually OR as part of the Student Support Bundle.

This webinar is one of five available during Velg Training's dedicated Focus Week: Assessment Tools & Practices

About this webinar

Often it is impractical for us to assess performance in the workplace. That might be because the skill we need to assess happens rarely in the real world and often we just don’t have access to the workplace, or the employer can’t provide the resources or a safe environment for assessment.

Simulations are a great way to assess performance, but they require resources, planning and clear instructions.

In this 90-minute webinar that forms part of our Focus Week, learn the art of designing reliable, authentic, and effective simulated practical assessments. From creating realistic workplace environments to crafting compelling scenarios, immerse your learners in a world that mirrors real-world situations and tasks. Uncover the secrets to developing clear instructions and master the techniques to ensure individual performance shines through in group assessments.

This webinar will explore examples of simulated practical assessments and will be reviewed to help participants visualise the concepts discussed.

Transform your assessment approach and watch your students thrive!"

  • Identifying the resources required for a simulated workplace environment.
  • Creating a simulated organisation
  • Gathering or developing simulated workplace documentation (e.g., policy, procedure, forms etc.)
  • Developing scenarios that replicate real-world situations and tasks.
