Update from SSO AIS

The Case for Change was drafted in consultation with the Australian Geospatial Imagery Organisation and Defence stakeholders with the recommendation for development of a national joint cyber and geospatial capability, as outlined in the White Paper and First Principles Review.

The Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards in consultation with industry stakeholders. The project covers the review of existing and new Property Services Training Package products, relevant to ANZIC 6922 Surveying and Mapping Services and ANZCO 3121 Architectural, Building and Surveying Technicians, where these roles are aligned to current and future Defence capability requirements.

The following DEF Defence Training Package products, will be developed as part of this Project. This includes:

• Four new Defence Units of Competency
• Two new Defence Skill Sets
• Final Draft Case for Endorsement

The draft Training Package materials have now been through an independent edit and quality assurance process.

The final drafts are now available for viewing.  Submission to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) will take place in June.
