To ensure integration of training and assessment approaches and systems, many RTOs may choose to develop detailed training and assessment strategies (TAS) that holistically describe the training (including how it has been developed and informed) and the assessment (including how it is conducted and quality assured) in line with the training product. (DEWR Standards for NVR RTOs: Outcome Standards, Policy Guidance)

This template has been designed to support RTOs if they choose to develop detailed training and assessment strategies. The information in this template is not considered ‘mandatory’ by the Outcome Standards. The document serves to provide one way that an RTO might adopt to record their strategies and practices for training and assessment for a particular training product. 

RTOs should customise this template to reflect their individual approaches. Where possible the template provides prompts or ideas about what to consider when documenting the RTO’s specific approach.

This template is a Word document (.doc) which has been set up as a form that can be adapted, customised and filled in by the RTO.
