Risk-Based 5-Year Validation Plan (Template)

Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) are required to demonstrate how they meet their obligations for validation-related activities under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations) Instrument 2025 (the ‘Outcome Standards’).

The Outcome Standards require that the RTO’s assessment system is fit-for-purpose, consistent with the training product (Standard 1.3) and that the system is quality assured through a regular process of validating assessment practices and judgements (Standard 1.5).

This product gives you:

• A guidance booklet summarising relevant compliance requirements according to the Outcome Standards
• A risk-analysis checklist
• Three (3) templates supplied as an editable spreadsheet with multiple worksheets that will provide a comprehensive framework to document the RTO's plan for:
  • Pre-use validation of assessment tools
  • Validation of specific training products from the TAE Training Package
  • Validation of assessment system and judgements
• Each worksheet has instructional guidance notes included and provision to record outcomes from the validation activities.
