VET FEE-HELP closes 31 December 2018
Grandfathering arrangements under the VET FEE-HELP scheme were initially introduced following the commencement of VET Student Loans on 1 January 2017. Students, who accessed VET FEE‑HELP before 30 December 2016, were able to continue their studies under their existing VET FEE-HELP arrangements subject to certain conditions. Subsequently, some grandfathered students who accessed VET FEE‑HELP and completed unit/s in 2017 were able to extend their VET FEE-HELP assistance into 2018 under ‘exceptional circumstances'.
Exceptional circumstances included illness, caring responsibilities, part-time studies, engagement in courses with longer than 12 months duration and students impacted by provider closure and tuition assurance.
The arrangements were only available for units of study with a census date occurring on or before 31 December 2018.
