Tech Company Continuing to Invest and Focus on the VET Sector

Where does this passion stem from, and how does it translate to the design of the software?

A VET background

One afternoon, when designing a Training & Assessment Strategy to deliver out in the mines of the Bowen Based, an assessor didn’t know how he was going to complete practical observations when the mine’s 100+ Supervisors worked across 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and he was in Monday to Thursday. He felt that there must be an alternative to paper out there, taking advantage of “new” mobile tech that was now available. When he looked, there was nothing that fulfilled the requirements of the VET sector.

This assessor, who had worked in VET for many years, successfully managing apprentice training programs, registering and managing RTOs in Australia, went on to pioneer Cloud Assess.

What started as a mobile evidence gathering tool, for assessors, has continued to grow to become a comprehensive and industry leading training and assessment solution for the VET sector.

Tightening of compliance regulations from ASQA

Compliance with Clause 1.8 of the Standards for RTOs, Assessment, was at a low of 28.5% at audit in 2017/18. The stats are overwhelming and support the need for RTOs to deploy a sophisticated solution with Assessment at its core. Learning Management Systems were traditionally built for other areas of education and with more of a focus on learning, rather than assessment.
