Demonstrating Vocational Competency Tool

Demonstrating Vocational Competency Tool image

The issue of ‘holding a unit’ becomes important for trainers and assessors as the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 contain specific clauses that outline the required credentials to train and assess others.  But what happens when you don’t ‘hold a unit’?  In some circumstances, you’ll still be able to continue your work training and assessing; you just need to provide evidence that you have the skills and knowledge equivalent to the outcomes of the unit you need to deliver.

In all circumstances, trainers and assessors must demonstrate vocational competence in each unit of competency they deliver and/or assess.

This template from Training Tools gives you the framework to provide the required evidence of vocational competence.

It outlines the information required to demonstrate compliance with requirements, a guide to completion, Evidence Summary template, and an approval record for use by the RTO’s compliance team. PLUS, it includes a completed example for your reference.
