Draft 1 First Aid units open for feedback.

National consultation on Draft 1 will occur from Wednesday, 07 August and will close at 5.00pm on Friday, 20 September 2019. During this period input will be sought on proposed new draft Units of Competency and their associated Assessment Requirements.

Following the close of the consultation period, feedback received will be collated and evaluated. This feedback will inform the development of Draft 2, which will be made publicly available for validation prior to the submission for endorsement.

Validation of Draft 2 Education Support qualifications and units now open.

The Education Support Draft 2 Qualifications and Units of Competency are now available for public consultation. These Training Package Products have been updated based on feedback received during the Draft 1 consultation period from November 2017-March 2018, as well as throughout the current consultation period for the Draft 2 Early Childhood Education and Care and School Age Care material.

The Draft 2 Education Support qualifications and units of competency have been complex due to a number of factors including 

• Clarification of the job roles
• The separation of the early childhood (ECE) units from the existing qualifications
• Concerns expressed in relation to the structure and content of the Draft 1 Education Support (EDS) qualifications, and validated with data provided by a key stakeholder 

People who are active in the Education Support sector are encouraged to review the Draft 2 Material and provide comment and feedback to guide the final draft. 

The national consultation process for Draft 2 material will be open until the 9th September 2019 and feedback can be provided on the SkillsIQ Online Feedback Forum.
