Skills Impact IRC Activity Updates

A number of Training Package projects are underway by Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) supported by Skills Service Organisation (SSO), Skills Impact.  The projects aim to improve units of competency, skill sets and qualifications.

Equine Safety in Training Project: The consultation period for the validation stage of the project is now closed.  The final drafts have been forwarded to the relevant Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) for sign off and after final quality assurance, the drafts will be sent to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) to consider and approve for publication on training.gov.au.

Greyhounds (animal welfare and racing integrity) Project: The consultation period for the validation stage of the project is now closed.  The final drafts have been forwarded to the relevant Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) for sign off and after final quality assurance, the drafts will be sent to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) to consider and approve for publication on training.gov.au.

Forest Harvesting Optimisation Project: Draft units of competency and skill sets are now available for  feedback.  Feedback is being sought on the content of 10 proposed new units of competency, 12 improved existing units and the structure of 2 new skill sets.  The draft units and skill sets will be available on the Skills Impact website for stakeholder consultation until COB Friday 30 June 2017.

Retail Baking Review Project: Feedback is being sought on a revised Certificate IV in Advanced Baking, three new skill sets and three new units of competency.  The draft qualification, skills sets and units will be available for industry feedback on the Skills Impact website until COB Friday 16 June 2017.

Veterinary Nursing Project: Feedback on draft units of competency and qualifications will inform work on the final drafts, which will be available for industry validation in the next week. Register your interest in the project to know when these final draft documents are available for validation.
