Fast-tracking Training and Skills During COVID-19

Fast-tracking Training and Skills During COVID-19 image

The Skills Ministers from all states and territories have agreed on priority national action in an effort to maintain the capability of Australia’s VET system to continue to deliver critical skills.  The prioritisation of fast-tracked adjustments to qualifications and training package requirements is a key responsibility of the newly-formed sub-committee.

The sub-committee recognises the importance of delivering high-quality and responsive training for essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as aged care and health care.  Rapid upskill of essential service workers may be required during this time, and the agreement of state and territory Ministers allows the VET sector to adequately meet these challenges.
