2020 Virtual VET Expo Wrap Up

Last week Velg Training hosted its first-ever Virtual VET Expo  with over 2,010 unique users coming online to visit Exhibitors from around Australia. With 1,575 attendees registering their Early Access Pass leading up to the event, the Expo hosted 40 Virtual Booths across four 3D levels. During the event, we saw an extraordinary 29,741 page views recorded and over 3,375 show bags downloaded. An inspiring level of interaction!

The Virtual VET Expo was an innovative, dedicated, online space where our Members, Followers and Sponsors could connect as a community, in a very interactive way.

Velg Training hosts the largest National VET Conference in Australia, which includes an extensive live Exhibition space showcasing exceptional product and service providers for the sector. 2020 however, saw the unforeseen circumstances COVID-19 imposed upon us, that were completely outside of our control and we were forced to postpone our signature event. Of course, this didn't stop us! We explored this alternative option to host our exhibition in a new, safe, online environment - bringing together our Conference community.

We wanted to create an option that would help support those businesses who are passionate about bringing their expertise, quality services and products to the VET sector, who have also been experiencing difficulties in reaching the VET community.

The 2020 Virtual VET Expo provided the perfect platform for our community to reach out to those who have explored proven solutions for them. Visitors were able to enter our Virtual World and engage with Exhibitors, to ask questions, gather information, interact with the 3D virtual booths in real-time via the embedded live chat functionality, and tap into some of the best giveaways we have seen at an event.

While the virtual event was new to us, we were excited about pushing the boundaries and thinking outside the box. The results have been both empowering and inspiring! We loved being able to continue to build relationships with, and showcase our Sponsors, and equally enjoyed being the conduit for our community by providing a special place and time to meet with and explore the vast number of businesses in our sector offering real solutions.

Of course, we would like to acknowledge the work of Big & Small Productions as the developers of the platform, and we look forward to working with them on future events. Their business motto is simple ‘they listen…’ it sounds simple enough, but this is probably what sets them apart from their competition and what helped create the perfect solutions for our needs.

We also take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the following Virtual VET Exhibitors for being a part of this event in 2020, for their willingness to try something new, and for their continued support.
