Observation is a powerful method of gathering direct evidence, but it does have its problems. As an Assessor, you can observe people and products, but you can’t observe thinking or attitudes. You can only make inferences about them, and inferences are not reliable sources of evidence.However, you can observe behaviour!Well-developed assessment instruments are critical to ensuring that the evidence gathered is valid and reliable.We need well-developed assessment instruments to ensure that the evidence gathered is valid and reliable.
