Let's Lead Our Assessment Validation Activities The Right Way!

This year's 2021 National VET PD Week (NVPDW) is inspired by the release of the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) research report (Authored by Francesca Beddie): Begin with the end: RTO practices and views on independent validation of assessment, which revealed the need for "more emphasis on the continuous professional development of trainers, and particularly assessors, as part of quality assurance."

In the fifth and final NVPDW validation webinar, Marc Ratcliffe leads you through the essentials of Leading Assessment Validation Activities.  This is an absolute must for those of you who validate assessment either as the lead validator or a validator working as part of an assessment validation team.

Validation is an incredibly important responsibility for RTOs.  Unfortunately, this is one area that continually represents some of the highest non-compliances at audit.  Leading regular assessment validation activities is therefore critical in confirming that an RTO’s assessment system consistently produces valid assessment judgements and ensures that candidates are assessed against all tasks identified in a unit of competency, and the evidence outlined in the associated assessment requirements.

This webinar will provide specific advice for developing more successful assessment validation activities. This includes working effectively with colleagues to systematically monitor assessment practice, undertaking risk assessment and analysis to determine the purpose, focus and context of validation activities, as well as supporting others through the validation process. In the end it will offer guidance on how to finalise documentation in keeping with required validation schedules.

This session comprises 60 minutes of content PLUS an additional 30 minutes 'Let's Talk About ....' component where your live questions, questions on notice and frequently asked questions will be addressed by Marc!
