"In April 2016, the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) announced the introduction of an updated Training and Education (TAE) Training Package, including a new Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with higher standards for trainers and assessors across the VET workforce.
The AISC set an 18-month transition period to allow providers to fully develop their strategies for intended training and assessment, lodge their applications, and transition students to the new qualification. This transition period ends on 5 October 2017.
There are currently around 560 RTOs with the superseded TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment on their scope of registration, yet to date ASQA has received just over 60 applications to add the new qualification to scope.
ASQA has approved three applications from RTOs that met the high standard we are applying. At the other end of the scale, we have issued 22 providers with a notice of intention to remove TAE products from their scope of registration."
