NVC Wrap Up

Last week over 1,300 delegates, sponsors and presenters came together in Sydney to work together in Building Quality in VET.

The event provided the perfect opportunity to network and discuss ways of improving practices across the board to benefit students, industry and the economy overall.

Master Classes were held on Wednesday 13 September 20117 and covered compliance, learner engagement and personal development sessions.

Over the course of the two-day main event, delegates were offered their choice of over 60 sessions across nine streams. This included coverage of RTO Management and Compliance, Training and Assessing, VET Shapers, Department of Education and Training, eLearning, Australian Skills Quality Authority and Foundation Skills.

The event began with a Welcome to Country by Uncle Allan Madden, a Gadigal man from the Eora Nation.

Keynote speakers included:

  • Kerri Buttery, Director of VET Content Development, Velg Training;
  • Dimity Redcliffe, Marketing, Conference and Events Manager, Velg Training;
  • The Hon Bill Galvin, AISC Representative
  • The Hon Michael Lavarch, Commissioner, ASQA
  • The Hon Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills; and
  • Chris Riddell, Global Futurist.

Throughout the event, delegates were also able to visit a wide range of exhibitors, receive complimentary advice from our resident gurus, recharge with relaxing massages in the RnR Bar and touch up their makeup at the Beauty Bar.

We enjoyed a Mexican Fiesta Welcome Function this year along with a GIF photo booth, lots of prizes and games including selfie bingo, limbo and of course our annual dance off.
