Closure of the Foundation Skills Assessment Tool
The Foundation Skills Assessment Tool (FSAT) is an interactive online tool designed to identify and measure an individual's foundation skill levels. These skills are fundamental to participation in the workforce, the community and in adult education and training.
Key dates for FSAT closure

| Date of announcement of FSAT closure | 9 May 2018 |
| Closure of FSAT to new users | 9 May 2018 |
| Final day to use FSAT and save reports | 30 June 2018 |
| FSAT closure takes place | 1 July 2018 |
May 2018 Update: FSAT Review
The independent review of FSAT was commissioned by the department in the 2017-18 financial year and was in progress at the time the decision to close FSAT was made. While the tool is being closed, the review findings and recommendations will be valuable for future reference.
