New Draft Unit Available for Viewing

New Draft Unit Available for Viewing image

The final draft of a new Unit of Competency for Butt Fusion Systems is available for viewing, prior to being submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. This unit is included in the Gas Training Package draft Case for Endorsement.  The unit is part of the UEG11 Gas Industry Training Package Transition Project. This project covers the development of one new Unit of Competency to address the need for skilled workers when installing large diameter polyethylene electrofused and butt fused systems. The new unit will cover specific calculations, knowledge and performance criteria involving additional practical components to meet the more rigorous standards required for this work.

Additionally, following stakeholder feedback, a separate mapping document has been developed to highlight changes to the Training Package, including additions and omissions.

The draft Unit has undergone an independent edit and quality assurance, and is now available for viewing. It will be submitted together with the Gas Industry Training Package Transition Project.

Seeking Feedback

AIS is also looking for feedback on draft materials developed for the Diploma of Water Industry Operations. The National Water Training Package project TAC has prepared draft materials for the Diploma of Water Industry Operations, which includes the new Hydrographic Surveying occupational stream.
