Due to be tabled in October 2018, the in-progress performance audit of the ‘Design and implementation of the VET Student Loans program’ aims to assess the effectiveness of the Department of Education and Training’s design and implementation of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Student Loans program.

Run by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), the audit is currently collecting audit evidence and is seeking input from members of the public.

The ANAO welcomes members of the public contributing information for consideration when conducting performance audits. Performance audits involve the independent and objective assessment of the administration of an entity or body’s programs, policies, projects or activities. They also examine how well administrative support systems operate.

It is anticipated that contributions to the audit will be open until 1 June 2018.
