Blog: 2018NVC: What's on the program

Our 2018 National VET Conference is shaping up to be the best program yet. Featuring two brand new streams, International VET and Tech in VET, the conference provides a balance between technology, compliance, training delivery and assessment.

Before the NVC even kicks off we have a day of pre-conference masterclasses on 12 September, presented by experts in their fields. These half day masterclasses provide an opportunity to explore topics in more depth while still having the flexibility to attend two different sessions in one day. The topics on offer have a balance between delivery and compliance and include:

• Troubleshooting the TAS
• The Balancing Act: Meeting compliance and people needs
• Focus on Foundation Skills: Essential for the future VET workforce
• The Black Art of Compliant Assessment

Come along to the main conference, being held 13 & 14 September 2018, to hear from some exciting new presenters as well as some old favourites, including our most highly rated presenters from the past few conferences. The 2018 NVC program is comprehensive and covers the following streams:

• RTO Management & Compliance – come along to this stream for advice on meeting daily compliance requirements, becoming an effective leader and growing your RTO
• Training & Assessing – Edutainment, collaboration, universal design, compliant assessment – we have it all covered across 14 great sessions (including our signature VET Guru Panel session)!
• VET Shaper – this stream will focus on skilling Australia’s VET future as well as an innovative VET Utopia panel session (come along to find out more!)
• Regulator – ASQA will present a range of sessions, including the popular ‘Ask an Auditor’ panel session (don’t miss this one!)
• Department of Education and Training (DET) – includes sessions on the Unique Student Identifier (USI) and VET Student Loans (VSL)
• eLearning – everything from introductory HTML to developing compliant assessment!
• Foundation Skills – come along to a great panel session with industry experts as well as sessions covering LLN
• Tech in VET – this new stream will give you great ideas about how to use technology to streamline your RTO’s operations
• International VET – this is an expanding area in the VET sector and these sessions will help provide perspective on the possibilities that are available
