Updates from SSOs

IBSA, the Skills Service Organisation (SSO) for the manufacturing industry, has six new Cases for Change ready to download.  The follow training packages now have cases for change available:

• Aeroskills
• Furnishing
• Laboratory Operations
• Plastics, Rubber and Cablemaking
• Textiles, Clothing and Footwear
• Sustainability

PwC’s Skills for Australia, the SSO for the business and education industries, has released a survey to gather valuable input to help shape employment outcomes for students.  The Business Services Industry Reference Committee (IRC) has identified that the BSB Training Package is home to many generic employability skills, as well as technical areas of expertise directly aligned with job occupations.  The next round of projects will reflect this, and training products will be reviewed in two streams; Technical Skills and Enterprise Skills.  The surveys to gather information about Technical Skills and Enterprise Skills are open until Friday 23 February 2018.

SkillsIQ, the SSO for people-facing vocations, is currently in the process of developing their 2018 Industry Skills Forecasts. The draft Industry Skills Forecasts will be available for public consultation and comment in a staggered process during February and March 2018.

Skills Impact, the SSO for various manufacturing, agriculture, and food and beverage related industries, has announced its Retail Baking and Rice Processing projects have been finalised, and projects in the agricultural and horticultural sectors are open for validation.
