Projects Being Finalised

The projects listed below are in the final stages of development.Agriculture and HorticultureFood, Beverage and Pharmaceutical RacingAnimal CareThe projects have been submitted to the State/Territory Training Authorities (STAs/TTAs) for their consideration and to seek their support for submission to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC). Comments from the STAs/TTAs will be reviewed by the relevant Industry Reference Committees (IRCs).

After consideration and sign off by the IRCs, they will then be submitted to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC), for their consideration, as part of a Case for Endorsement.Once endorsed by the AISC and published on training.gov.au, the new and revised qualifications, skill sets and units of competency, that have been developed as part of these projects, will become available for use by registered training organisations (RTOs).

Each project was approved for development by the AISC off the back of particular skills needs and gaps that were identified in last year's 2017-2020IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedules of Work.

New Projects Soon to be Announced

AISC Meets to Review IRC Skills Forecasts

As many of the projects we have been working on reach the final stages, we await confirmation of the next round of projects.

The AISC considered the 2018-2021 IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedule of Work at their recent meeting on June 5.  An official communique will soon follow, which will announce the skills priorities that have been funded and approved to become projects for development.   The communique will be published on the AISC Media Hub.

Following the approval of projects, Skills Impact will communicate this with you all and commence the project work.

IRC Skills Forecasts and Proposed Schedule of Work are annual documents that identify skills gaps, emerging skills needs and associated training needs for industry and determine whether there is a need to change training packages (i.e. units of competency, skill sets and qualifications).

The documents propose a plan for reviewing and developing the relevant units, skill sets and qualifications. They are submitted from the relevant IRC to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) every April.
