Velg Training Volume of Learning and Amount of Training Guides

Contributors
Velg Training

Version
VT1.2

This product is a set of worked examples that guides the user through one approach to analysing units of competency and other considerations when determining course duration and the amount of training.

Under the Standards for RTOs 2015, an ‘"RTO’s training and assessment strategies and practices, including the amount of training they provide, are consistent with the requirements of training packages and VET accredited courses and enable each learner to meet the requirements for each unit of competency or module in which they are enrolled."

The amount of training provided by your RTO is a component of the overall volume of learning.

In determining the amount of training to be delivered an RTO needs to analyse the training product(s) they plan to deliver to identify a range of factors. This Velg Training Product for Purchase has been designed as a guide for RTOs to use when considering the volume of learning and to determine the amount of training to be delivered.

Practical examples are provided to assist in demonstrating how time frames may be calculated using scenario based models for:

  • BSB51315  Diploma of Work Health and Safety
  • TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set
  • CPC30211 Certificate III in Carpentry (now superseded by CPC30220 - equivalent)

These examples can be used to guide your RTO when determining the volume of learning and amount of training required for delivery of training products on its scope of registration.
