Largest Online Trainer & Assessor Event Starts Tomorrow – Over 550 Registrations Received

Through a commitment to ‘Building Quality in VET’, Velg Training is offering an affordable professional development opportunity via a webinar series held over 10 weeks. This series has been designed to guide trainers and assessors through the process of gathering evidence towards currency against the units of competency from TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Using 10 units from the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment the series will:

• Unpack each unit over 10 weeks to clearly identify what a competent trainer and assessor does
• Identify what types of activities trainers and assessors are already doing that would support demonstration of currency
• Prompt participants to identify any gaps that might exist within each unit, that could be used to plan what activities trainers and assessors should be doing in the near future to gain/maintain currency against the latest TAE qualification
• Highlight types of evidence that could be used and kept to demonstrate currency
• Provide a proforma (including mapping) that can be completed throughout the series by participants to document their currency

Whilst this is not a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, participants will walk away with: a record of their own currency activities, mapped to unit requirements; identified examples of the evidence they have; any identified ‘gaps’ in currency (with strategies on how to fill those gaps); the record keeping proforma; and the formal record of their professional development. All of which could be used to support an RPL application for the TAE40116 qualification with an RTO in the future.
